Well, it has been my second week of working life, but its only the second day that I am handling all these naughty rich family son and daughter. You know, not being bias to anyone, it just that these children have been spoiled along their life before they enter primary school. But one thing that has made me feel so awkward about is, why the girl who has only 4.5 years can enter primary school ans start to study year 1? For me, her level is ok, but this is the time for her to enjoy life as a kids, not a proper student yet. Anyway, i will try my best to teach her.
A lot of scenario can be seen in Year 1 class. Students cannot sit still, walk around the class, pulling chairs, keep asking to go to toilet with no reason, ..., ... Well, this is part of the life, and very precious experience of course if you ever have the chance to teach these kinds of students. You know, the one whom i like the most in Year 1 will be the boy from Spain, name Sergio. He is not really cute in his appearance, maybe naughty in class, but he has a kind of good smell like a baby (am i crazy?!) and he can learn if he really want. And of course i like to tease him by asking him "what is this called in Spanish?". When he get wrong, i will tease him more of course. Haha. Just like this morning, he kept saying that 11 is twelve, when i pointed to 12, he said twelve also. So i asked him what is 11 called in Spanish, and he gave me the answer DOCE, means 12 also. Haha. I told him, is ONCE means 11, and he laugh non stop. So cute.
Nevertheless, Year 6 did good and nice to me when i was in their class past two days, especially Jing Le. I know his background from his home tutor, maybe it is a little bit scary for others, but i just try to treat it as normal and also try to get near to the student's heart. If only when you win the heart of your students, you can manage them and teach them from heart to heart. I hope i can do that to everyone that i teach.
The 2 korean boy in Year 2 make me headache after today's Mandarin class. When i asked everyone in the class (there is only 7 in the class including both of them) to sing Hello Song in Mandarin Version, you know what they told me? "Teacher, i don't like this kind of song, i found it very childish to me." Can you imagine that happen on you? What will you respond if you were there? Haha, i need to improve my teaching way i think to avoid this kind of statement again next class. But really cannot tahan is when they told me "I studied in S'pore many years and I can speak good English." Means? The teacher is challenging them? Or the teacher is very lousy? Well, think about it later..
With job undone, lesson plan not complete and power point no idea, i think i should force myself to continue it if not i will have not enough sleep again tomorrow.
