30 Hours Famine Camp 2014

Annual activity has back! Yoohoo! Is time for me to torture myself again! Haha. Actually not to say torture, should use blessful to describe all these. Feel blessful as I have a complete self and mind to help myself in going through all these in 30 hours famine.

Well, this will be the 6th time I join this activity, the very first time was when I was 15, means 10 years before. Wow, time flies. This year, I make a difference. I join as one of the committees rather than just a normal camper. This will be a challenge for me as I need to use moe energy in this 30 hours compare to those normal camper. I can do it, right? And I must do it!

When I start to explain all these to either my friends, colleagues, and even students, they will just show me a shock face and say "what?!?". Yes, this is how they react. Why so? Is just because we are not only go and feel the hungerness, we need to meet the target of donation too. Previously I asked from my relatives to donate, but now working and for sure I pay for all donation. Some of them might ask why should we do something so stupid and waste time to be there. Be frank, if you dont believe the aim of this activity, no matter how many things I said, u won't listen too.

Every one starve for 30 hours together, is just to raise the awareness of ourselves regarding there are still many people especially children ware starving in every corner of this world. About the donation that we raise, they will use it wisely in helping all these children and family to improve their life. This is why, donation to World Vision can't use for income tax deduction.

Why I insist to attand if I have the free time? Just one reason, I want to remind myself how grateful I am to stay in a house with family, and should care about those who are in need. Because of this, I have reached one of my targets, sponsor a child. Only one which I can afford now. More? Maybe later in life. This is a life long investment as the child need around 10 to 15 years to finish his or her study. What I am doing now is just like a chinese saying "取之社会，用之社会". Then only our generation can have a better future.

Erm... Too lengthy today. Just to remember, try ur best and do ur best to help those in need. You might need help from someone one day too.
